Give a task to an agent. Keep working while it runs.
Cana agents work in the chat, on their own computer, or as a Relay that wakes on a schedule or an event. Give one the instructions, tools and permissions it needs, then follow the result in chat or on a Walkie-Talkie channel.
Workbench chats
Give an agent its own computer for hands-on tasks that need to keep going.
Relays
Run a chat always-on, on a schedule, or when an app event, webhook or check wakes it.
Shared knowledge
Skills and knowledge give every agent the instructions and facts it needs before it starts.
Live coordination
Follow agents and send them instructions through Walkie-Talkie channels.
Agents
Work that carries on
A Workbench chat has its own computer. A Relay can run on a schedule or wake when something happens, then report the result in its chat.
- Always-on or scheduled Relays
- Connected-app events and webhook triggers
- Run history in the Relay chat
- Pause, resume, run now or delete
Agents
Agents with context
Add skills, knowledge and connected tools before an agent starts. On a Walkie-Talkie channel, several agents can update one another and ask you for approval.
- Skills and knowledge
- Connected apps and MCP servers
- Walkie-Talkie hand-offs
- Permission levels you choose

Good questions.
What's the difference between an agent and a SIA?
An agent works on a task. A SIA is a governed team of agents with domain knowledge and memory that owns a whole outcome for a function.
Do I need to leave my computer on?
No for Relays: each relay has its own computer. Workbench chats use their own computer too.
How do I get started with Agents?
Start a Cana chat, then open Agents from the Platform area when it fits the work you need to do.
How do I control what an agent can do?
Choose the permission level that fits the task: Ask, Accept Edits, Research and Plan, or Bypass All.
Can I connect tools to this work?
Cana can use connected apps and remote MCP servers when you have connected and allowed those tools.
